Introduction to
the KGS Anniversary Collection Index
This
collection is composed of 27,725 anniversary announcements clipped from
Kansas newspapers, beginning in about 1963, and pasted into notebooks by
various volunteers interested in preserving genealogical information for
posterity. The announcements are from various areas and time periods in
Kansas, as the volunteer’s interest dictated. There is no inference that
the collection contains all anniversary announcements in the state of
Kansas. As with all newspaper announcements the content can vary from a
one line announcement to several paragraphs with pictures. In many
instances the source (name and date of newspaper, etc.) was not included
by the volunteer however the content of the announcement is complete.
Copies
of the anniversary announcements are available from KGS by filling out
and mailing the order form with a payment of $5.00, pp., per
announcement.

interest dictated. The type of reunions is quite varied; including
family, military units, school classes, church, etc. There is no
inference that the collection contains all anniversary announcements in
the state of Kansas. As with all newspaper announcements the content can
vary from a one line announcement to several paragraphs with pictures. In
many instances the source (name and date of newspaper, etc.) was not
included by the volunteer however the content of the announcement is
complete.
